Q: What are the system requirements for SmartSync Pro?
A: Hard drive with at least 5 MB of free space for installation, 32 MB RAM or more, 133 MHz processor, or faster.
   
Q: What limitations are there in the trial version of SmartSync Pro?
A: There are no functional limitations in the 30-days trial version. The only limitation concerns the log file at the bi-directional synchronization: it is impossible to enable the option "Add File Names to Log File", only summary appears.
   
Q: What is SmartSync Pro profile?
A: SmartSync Pro profile is an object that contains a set of folders, processing and scheduling options, as well as inclusion and exclusion filters. To start any backup, synchronization or restoring action, you will need first to create a new profile.
   
Q: Can SmartSync Pro create a backup image of my whole system and restore it in case of hard disk failure?
A: No, SmartSync Pro cannot support whole system backup. You can back up only files and folders.
   
Q: Can SmartSync Pro run as a service?
A: Yes, the program can be run as a service under Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003.
   
Q: Can SmartSync Pro back up/synchronize open files?
A: No, the program cannot back up open files. E.g. prior to backing up Outlook email messages, you will need to close Microsoft Outlook.
   
Q: Is it possible not to launch SmartSync Pro at Windows Startup?
A: Yes, you will need to uncheck the option "Start at logon" in Options - Startup.
   
Q: I have lost my registration key. How can I get it?
A: If you have not received or lost your registration key, you can get it here.
   
Q: Does your product work with Microsoft Server 2003?
A: Yes, it does. If it does not run or keep crashing then do the following:
Press Windows button Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Settings (under Performance) -> Data Execution Prevention -> Add SmartSync.exe to the list.
